  1. What a commentator, kept me watching and on my seat with all the permiatatioms of what was what in an incredible night which could have ended up in so many different ways… How do they keep up with it all. Such an exciting game to watch brought to life not only on the field but, listening to the commentator. Who says women's football can't compete with the big boys!! SO SO EXCITING!!

  2. An incredible game to be on commmentary for, I said C is for chaos when it came to group C and so it proved! The permutations changing with all of the seven goals as they went in across this game and in Bavaria.

Elisa Bartoli heading Roma infront, and for a time their dream was on of repeating last season in reaching the quarter-finals, but back came Ajax. A left-footed laser by Tiny Hoekstra just before half-time, and then the second-half was glorious fun, both teams going for it knowing they desperately needed a win, as Ajax weren't getting any help from PSG elsewhere at that point. Then with five minutes or so left, that Sherida Spitse corner produces a moment Ajax fans will never forget. You have to feel for the 18-year-old Zara Kramzar, a luckless own goal but top-level sport is brutal.

Speaking as strictly as a neutral the injury to Manuela Giugliano felt huge in the flow of the match – I said on commentary she's the jewel in the Roma crown and I stand by that – losing Valentina Giacinti clearly a massive blow too.

Ajax into the UWCL quarter-finals for the first time in their history – Barcelona, Lyon or Chelsea await in the quarter-finals for them. Roma are back to domestic focus, top of Serie A looked to defend that title, and have a huge Coppa Italia quarter-final 2nd leg coming up in a week at home against Napoli after losing the away leg 2-0.

    Seeded: Barcelona, Lyon, PSG, Chelsea.

Unseeded: Benfica, Brann, Ajax, BK Hacken.

You cannot play a side you faced in the group stage.

  3. Snap niet helemaal de blijdschap van Spitze. Ze had bijna rood maar is wel geschorst voor de volgende wedstrijd alsook haar claim van het eigen doelpunt van Roma is ook onterecht.

  4. Ajax reached the knockout stage on their deubt season.. WOW who knew they would complete with PSG, AS Roma and Bayern Munich, let's hope they can knockout Lyon, Barcelona and Chelsea ๐Ÿ˜‚

  5. Also, congrats to Ajax – similar to Juventus a couple of seasons back getting out of a group with Chelsea and Wolfsburg, they showed that a team can work miracles if given proper support, namely a large stadium to play in and solid home crowds ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

  6. Disappointing outcome for Roma considering that the result in the other game was just what the doctor ordered. Unfortunately, Giugliano getting withdrawn at halftime was the death knell. Feiersinger and Kumagai were brought in at the start of the season to replace Andressa but failed to impress, in this game in particular they had that mishap in the middle of the pitch resulting in the Ajax equalizer, until that point Roma were in control of the game. Viens has been struggling, Haavi was active but nowhere as sharp as she was last season. No time to be depressed, though, as Juventus will be happy to play against a depressed opposition on Sunday
