Breaking Lines | When to Penetrate
The objective here is to land when it’s the right moment to penetrate through the thirds. To evolve, limit touches or add more defenders.
Set up:
✅ 3 sections, adapt size to suit
✅ 3 v 1 in the end sections, 2 v 1 in the middle
✅ No goals, the objective is to play through the thirds
Instructions:
✔️ The ball starts in either end zone. To progress they must complete 3 passes in their 3 v 1 section
✔️ Once they have completed 3 passes, they can play into the middle third. The player receiving in the middle third must play back into the zone it came from. A receiver can then play long to the final third
✔️The 8 get a point for every successful play through the thirds they complete before getting tackled. When one of the defenders wins the ball, they swap with whoever they won the ball from
