Villarreal are through to the Europa League round of 16! The second half didn’t live up to the first in terms of goalmouth action but there was nevertheless plenty of drama in Spain. Salzburg came out of the traps determined to get back into this tie having lost 2-0 in the first leg last week. They duly did so thanks to Berisha’s finish on 17 minutes. But the visitors couldn’t convert their pressure into a second goal, and before half time Gerard Moreno had levelled for Villarreal.
