Tommy Smith was born in Liverpool in 1945 and had a reputation as a real ‘hard man’ a defender who determined, powerful and who’s raw aggression in the tackle quickly earned him a reputation, but he could also play as well, making over 600 appearances for the club he supported as a boy. He was a key player during the 1960’s and 70’s as Liverpool rose from second division mediocrity to dominate the English game.

Javier Hernandez Balcazar, was born on June 1, 1988 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, better known as “Chicharito” (little pea) is a Mexican Soccer player who plays as a striker and is one of the great promises of Mexican soccer. The nickname “Chicharito” was given by his father, Javier Hernndez Gutirrez, was nicknamed “pea”, due to its low stature and green eyes; and thus “Chicharito” is the “little pea.” Hernndez Gutirrez, participated in the World Cup 1986 in Mexico.

Chelsea visit Villa Park this Saturday for another away assignment that could be as stiff a test for the champions as the Manchester City game that the Stamford Bridge squad lost. In their home match against Chelsea last year, the Villans prevailed 2-0, and against Ancelotti’s injury-hit squad, there’s no reason why the result cannot be similar this time around.

While Sir Alex’s men have won all their home matches, they have squandered the advantage, somewhat, by drawing all their away matches. That said, the Old Trafford squad will relish the prospect of hosting West Brom on Saturday afternoon and hope to get back to winning ways. But the Baggies are no pushovers as they amply proved when they beat Arsenal at the Emirates. That said, their past record against the big sides leaves much to be desired.

A Spanish newspaper, AS, has claimed that Wayne Rooney is unlikely to renew his contract with Manchester United paving the way for a transfer to Spanish club Real Madrid. According to the paper, Rooney is frustrated with the media intrusion into his personal life and that has led to his decision to quit the Old Trafford squad.

Arsenal host Birmingham City in an afternoon kick-off on October 16. Birmingham began their Premiership campaign reasonably well, with a win and three draws in their first four matches, including a goalless draw against Liverpool.
