When this new PL season started, I felt disappointed with my team's performance
But as the season progressed, things started to improve, and my team managed to reach 4th
Which brings me to yesteday's match. Playing vs City, the best team in the league, I didn't have many expectations, other than my team making a decent appearance and puting up a fight
I was in for a (pleasant) surprise though. My team were dominant overall, for the majority of the match. They stood up well, creating more opportunities, even managed to hold up decently when playing one player shy. I m sure even City fans can admit to that
I never believed there is any sense of 'fairness' in life in general and football is no exception. This match was the definition of un-fairness
I would have hoped that luck or skill were the only attributes that played a role in the final scoreline of this game
Other than the 2nd yellow card (which was justified), the referee was dreadful. Basically, ruined the entire match with his decisions. I ve been watching PL for years and incidents like this hurt the otherwise – best league in the world. Its shocking how, even with the VAR assistance, he made such bad calls that changed the course of the match. Shame!
As for my team, despite the final scoreline, I can only be proud of their performance display. I hope they are not put down by this. If they keep their pace and passion, they are surely within the reach of a spot that will allow them to play in the Champions League next year
Its good to see Arsenal show improvement under Arteta. He withstood criticism during a trying 8 months and now they are doing well.
