Despite a 3-2 win in the second leg of the UEFA Europa League semifinal, Roma lost 8-5 on aggregate to Manchester United.
Manchester United coasted in the second leg after absolutely dominating the first leg. In the second, Cavani netted goals in the 39’ and 68’ to solidify Man U’s win and spot in the final.
Roma’s effort was valiant as Dzeko scored in the 57’, Cristante scored in the 60’ and it looked like they had the slimmest of hope. In the 83’ Alex Telles scored an own goal but that, in the end, was a meaningless goal.
Manchester United are headed to the UEFA Europa League Final where they will face off with Villarreal.
