Overall Ajax deserved the win, but they went about it the hard way. After carelessly conceding, it look like they were heading for defeat, but their persistence paid off in the end. Great to see players like Timber, Rensch and Brobbey playing such an important role, given that none of them has yet turned 20. The Eredivise champions’ relative home struggles means LOSC are still in the tie, although the French league leaders will have to show more inventiveness if they want to make an impression in Amsterdam.
