It’s that time of year again as the January transfer window opens and clubs will be looking to strengthen their sides in time for the season’s final run in. Last January the Premier League saw some massive transfers as Fernando Torres changed cities to move from Liverpool to Chelsea in a 50 million GBP move. Liverpool were quick to replace the Spanish hitman bringing in Newcastle’s Andy Carroll.

Tonight I watched a young man (15 year old, Sophomore), get his first crack at “playing” varsity football. We’ll call him Aaron, well because Aaron is his name. Aaron’s a superb soccer player the doubles in the fall as a field goal and place kicker.

Even though the English Premier League has only been around since 1992, it has a rich and storied tradition that goes back much further. Featuring world famous football teams, such as Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, and the Blackburn Rovers, the League symbolizes the very best in the world of professional football and all it has to offer. Ruling the roost is Manchester United, which has won 12 championships since the league was formed.

League one side Oldham threatened to cause a major upset when they played Liverpool at their famous Anfield Stadium in the FA Cup third round tie. Robbie Simpson scored with a long range shot to give Oldham a 1-0 lead, after his team had spurned several good chances. Liverpool responded almost immediately and went onto win the game comprehensively, although the 5-1 final score flattered the home team. Oldham’s commitment and enthusiasm were a credit to lower league football.

Steven Gerrard is probably one of Liverpool’s greatest ever players, after signing his professional contract with the club in 1997 and making his first team debut a year later he has never looked back. Viewed by many as the most complete footballer of the modern game, his speed, skill, goal scoring attributes and his commitment to the cause have been rewarded with nearly every football medal available, apart from an elusive Premier league winners medal.

There is no doubt that Liverpool FC is one of the truly great soccer clubs of the world. Admittedly in recent years they may not have dominated the game in the way they did in the 1970s but the truth is that they have always made their impact felt at the highest level of European soccer.

If we are talking about playing football, I think most of us want to be a striker or forward player, it’s because we think that the striker is the best position in the game and the others just for supporting the striker. And also we think that the striker is a hero for the team because he makes scores and finally wins the game. Sometimes common people say that they win only because of the Forward players or the strikers. But actually, their assumption is wrong, because the main thing that is important in football game is teamwork. Each player in the game must be discipline and do their duty based on their position. Without that, the play will be bad and the team won’t win the game. In football game, basically we know about 4 positions of players; Goalkeeper (GK), Defender (DF), Midfielder (MF), and Forward or Striker (FW). In each position, they have their main duty in a game.
