Nonsense. There is no proper structure in South Africa for players to develop and be scouted.
If a player is not recruited young to an academy the players goes unnoticed. And then you find players, playing in local leagues that could have been there instead of academy graduates.
In so many areas of South Africa there is not even proper under-age division, but 2 leagues where all the players play in despite age.
Even at schools football can not be played everywhere but rugby is everywhere.
We have young talent, but almost never reach exceptional level.
