For the last decade, Bayern Munich have been the champions of the Bundesliga league. With 32 titles, 21 more than second place FC Nürnberg and 22 more than Dortmund [put a graph of all of the teams and the number of their championships], Munich have dominated their respective league. One of the main reasons for Munich dominance is their ability to poach players from their rivals, for instance Robert Lewandowski, Mario Gomez, Manuel Neuer, and more. The large fan base, more screen time, and historical domination of the league compared to other Bundesliga clubs allows them to attract top tier talent.
So, you would think that a league with such little parody would have a small following, but Bundesliga is still one of the five major football leagues in the world, and by many measures has the most passionate fanbases.
Now consider if Bundesliga had a lot more parity, could it rise to become the most popular league in the world?
