I told you. I saw this coming from a mile away. The Earthquakes are โJohn Fisher-ingโ again and tanking because the team owner probably told them to so he wonโt have to spend to get PayPal Park ready for MLS Cup playoffs with his horrid cheapness. Itโs the only thing that makes sense as to why they had such a great start and were comfortably top 4 in the West, only to now โsuddenlyโ and magically be in free fall.
This same thing happened last year. They were solid and then completely ghosted in the second half of the year. John Fisher always does this with the teams he owns which I why, while I have really tried to like the Quakes in the past, I am just done with them at this point. All were missing now is the eventual fire sell of players he doesn't want to give deserved contract extensions or performance bonuses to at the end of the season.
If all you care about is money, then sell the darn team Fisher, you greedy pathetic cheapskate!!!!
