One of my teammates, our captain, is older than me. He once told me that when VAR was introduced, everyone thought it would make football fairer. But he believed it would actually make the game more controversial and open to manipulation. Looking at situations like this, I think he was right. Sometimes VAR seems to be there just to have a cup of coffee instead of helping the referee.
