Troy Deaney is professional contrarian who's constantly attempting to rage bait, he plays the WWE heal. It's boring and not entertaining. Unfortunately with media the way it is at the moment characters like this thinks this how you get on in the game. Much like his football career lacking huge amount of talent but showed character which equalled mediocrity.
Tuchel has picked players to play in this way not to play pretty football, hence why he left Palmer and Foden at home. The old England would have lost against Mexico, not because Mexico are a better team but because of the occasion. Tournament football isn't usually pretty. People forget that the Argentina v France final was a one off. Most knockout games are cagey and not end-to-end goal fests. France have looked the best team so far but they are beatable. Anyone in the last 8 can win it bar Switzerland (no offence).
England are a possession team. Look at the stats of some of the remaining teams regarding possession across games played in this tournament: Spain (60.8) > England (58.4) > France (55.6) > Norway (50.6).

Yes, England played very well and won fair and square, but all the English people keep talking about the altitude and the stadium. But it was the Mexican players who scored two goals against them and almost tied England. I think they're a bit underrated when they really gave the Three Lions a real run for their money. The stadium and the altitude don't affect the ball's trajectory; the players did.

I disagree with troy I think Norway whilst not frightened of England will look at that and think of we give them a penalty and a guilt edge chance like we did Brazil they'll be out of here with the bag the think that will worry teams about England is this mercurial nature they seem to have they can seemingly be coasting in a game not playing well and then 75 seconds later they've produce two moments of magic and it's 2-0 I'm not sure Norway have that kind of ability or as good of players as England out it this way I think England have a couple of gears to go up from Mexico in not sure Norway go up a level from Brazil

For all of those complaining about this analysis. Don’t know this guy, but he’s absolutely bang on. This Mexico team (coming from a Mexican fan) is a great team but not a SUPER team. We don’t have players like Bellingham or Kane. Bellingham was an absolute BEAST both offensively and defensively and put this England team on his back.
England is the MUCH stronger team. They should’ve dominated this game. They didn’t. Mexico had way more possession, way more dangerous opportunities, way more corners. And not by a subtle margin. By a STAGGERING margin. If Mexico had at least one player like Kane or Belliingham that could take over a game on the biggest stage, it most likely would’ve been a different outcome.
Yes it’s hard to hear criticism about your favourite team but he’s 100% right that this kind of effort won’t beat a team like Argentina, or France, or maybe even Norway who beat up on Brazil.
