Guadalajara, Almeyda ready to kick off Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League campaign

Guadalajara has not lifted the CONCACAF club trophy since the inaugural Champions’ Cup in 1962, when it defeated Guatemala’s Comunicaciones in the final (agg: 6-0). Although nearly 56 years has passed since that historic triumph, by virtue of capturing the 2016 Liga MX Clausura title, Chivas is in position to do so once again. They open their 2018 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League campaign on Tuesday in the round of 16 with a visit to the Dominican Republic’s Cibao FC. Head coach Matias Almeyda shares his thoughts with CONCACAF.com.
