It’s because everything in the U.S. is about money. Football programs are thousands a year in America. In Europe it’s a couple hundred euros, if not paid for by the club
Well yeah the scouting is going to be terrible its nowhere near our top sports and never will be as football baseball basketball and hell even hockey are the ones people get seriously into soccer from what i know as a us citizen is mostly just a pass time we have good teams like my chattanooga fc and red wolves in my area but its just not as focused since schools dont even have it or even mention it
Your statement is the wrong thing mate. It was a great failure in any aspects the play and matches and price for the seats and infra everything was like a third world country not like some super rich ahit your country claim to be. Why would a 20trillion + economy squeeze out football fans for profit mate this is pure shitt
Maybe the coaches saw the talent but he didnt fit their system. He prob worked his ass off too. Also he eventually got noticed to play in usl, but then moved on to europe bcs he was ballin out (i think, pls no backlash if im wrong)
The US only Has 3 players made in USA in their starting lineup. The rest are foreign made. If the US was a poor country like Venezuela, all those players would have been playing somewhere else. A So the US is actually weak in soccer, but rich in immigration
There is at least a quadruple digit number of kids out there in the US that are better than the entire national team that won't get a chance because of our fucking moronic system.
That's the US for you. It's all about who you know not what you know. If you look at a lot of pro players, most of them have a descendants of their father and great-grandparents playing the same sport. We don't look for talent we look for Descendants
It’s because the leagues are not promotion based and there’s no relegation for mls clubs. In the rest of the world, you don’t automatically get a stay in the top flight, your team has to consistently perform to be at the top
It’s all about money unfortunately, really wish this would get fixed! Talent should win always.
the fact you call it soccer already makes it cooked
it's pay to play, not everyone can afford it
Honestly
Still glad Diamonde made it to Real Madrid instead of an mls club
It's also the way the leagues work… you need a promotion and relegation system, otherwise it is just playing for no reason, but yeah I hear you
Same here in india
The entirety of US soccer is a feeder league or a league where you go b4 you retire. Like the NCAA but for Premier league.
Yeh y'all cooked. Lmao!!

ITS FOOTBALL NOT SOCCER
It’s because everything in the U.S. is about money. Football programs are thousands a year in America. In Europe it’s a couple hundred euros, if not paid for by the club
In the US you have to pay thousands to play as a child. in Europe i saw they only pay like 160 euros.
US sucks 😂😂
Exactly! That’s why I’m not pro rn 😡😂
All they want is money
PAY TO PLAY, is why the US football is trash
The Dutch are great at scouting talent
Well yeah the scouting is going to be terrible its nowhere near our top sports and never will be as football baseball basketball and hell even hockey are the ones people get seriously into soccer from what i know as a us citizen is mostly just a pass time we have good teams like my chattanooga fc and red wolves in my area but its just not as focused since schools dont even have it or even mention it

That is why I am leaving hopefully before I am over the age of 29
Its still better than India, Indian football is dying but we have the money to save it but no one wants to😢
I saw Landon Donovan say on a podcast that youth soccer in the US is “Pay to win” basically.
Instead of focusing on the youth talent, it’s focused on how much money they can extract from the parents
There is at least a quadruple digit number of kids out there in the US that are better than the entire national team that won't get a chance because of our fucking moronic system.
Now u know why they still suck
Tbh Im even surprised USA surpasses countries like China and India despite soccer not being popular in the country and far lesser population
The NFL had done the same thing numerous times. Can you give us anymore examples in soccer because you’ve only given us one.
That's the US for you. It's all about who you know not what you know. If you look at a lot of pro players, most of them have a descendants of their father and great-grandparents playing the same sport. We don't look for talent we look for Descendants
If you’re not a “nepo kid” in the USA, you’ll never get looked at
Why is it that they let talent slip? Is it that they think you need to look like an american football player or something?
It’s because the leagues are not promotion based and there’s no relegation for mls clubs. In the rest of the world, you don’t automatically get a stay in the top flight, your team has to consistently perform to be at the top
