Martin Gramática’s journey to Super Bowl Champion began in Buenos Aires, Argentina where he was born in 1975. Fitting in with Argentinian culture, Martin’s first love was soccer but what he didn’t know is how that would lay the foundation for his life ahead. After Martin and his family moved to the United States in 1985, he continued to play the sport he loved. Naturally, he excelled as a soccer player for his high school team, but it wasn’t until his senior year where he tried football for the first time after the head coach encouraged him to participate.
From there his future became clearer and following a successful kicking career at Kansas State University he was drafted in the third-round of the 1999 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
After spending nine years in the NFL, winning Super Bowl XXXVII, and earning numerous accolades he’s now in a position to give back the knowledge he’s learned throughout his life with the next generation of athletes. Martin now coaches his daughter’s club soccer team and took on the challenge of becoming the Head Coach of the Tampa Bay Strikers for their first year of existence in the NISL.
