After an illustrious European career that included stops at Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona, Lewandowski chose Chicago as the next step in his remarkable career.
One of the greatest strikers of his generation, Lewandowski will now lead the line for the Fire. He’ll don the No. 9 jersey as Chicago look to build on a strong first season under head coach Gregg Berhalter, which saw them return to the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2017.
And despite not yet taking the field for his new club, he’s already setting the standard.
“One thing I can tell you about Robert is tremendous work rate,” said Berhalter. “When you think about a guy coming into the team, who was jet-lagged all last week and he’s pushing the guys in training, we are doing fitness stuff, he’s pushing that and doing extra work after.
“You can see why he’s been a pro and why he’s scored more goals than anyone in Europe in the last 15 years because he’s an absolute pro on the field. In the training sessions, he’s been high quality, scoring goals and he looks like a great player.”

Zostawił biedną Anne z biznesami i rodziną w Barcelonie, a sam uciekł za ocean grać sobie w piłkę, dobrze, że Anna odnalazła nową pasję w tańcach z obdarzonymi Hiszpanami.
Anna jest bardzo atrakcyjną kobietą potrzebuje tylko powiększyć sobie piersi, wszczepić implanty w pośladki, powiększyć wargi na buzi i zmniejszyć nosek i będzie mogła mieć każdego Hiszpana w Barcelonie. A Robert raczej atrakcyjnie nie wygląda, powinna go wymienić na lepszy hiszpański model albo un chico latino. Pod żadnym pozorem nie powinna wyjeżdżać do Chicago. To wina Roberta, gdyby lepiej grał to by zostali w Barcelonie gdzie Anna miała wszystkie biznesy i szkoły dla córek. Oni go tam nawet nie chcieli tam na rezerwowego. Biedna kobieta i to czepianie że od czasu do czasu chodzi potańczyć po nocnych klubach, komu to przeszkadza. Żeby tylko Anna znowu nie dostała szczękościsku od tego stresu.

I’m a big fan of Lewandowski. He was at Barcelona until last season, and I still think he is one of the best strikers in the world. But if you want him to score a lot of goals, he needs an attacking team around him. Chicago Fire is quite similar to the Polish national team when you look at their tactics and defensive style of play. That’s why I don’t think Robert will score as many goals in Chicago as he did at Bayern or Barcelona. I think it will be more like with the Polish national team, where Robert’s level automatically drops when the overall level of the team is lower.
