I love Busquets but the two things he has on him are tekkers and nostalgia. Rodri scores more. Has better individual awards.
He stands out now. But if he played back in 2012 when all the greats were in their prime, he wouldn’t be a headline name. I might be wrong but it’s easier to stand out now
Sry, Rodri is a top profesional and super midfield but man Busquts was something else!! Imo there is no comparasion.
Rodri/busquets is the only fair comparison since the role/position they play are extremely similar and their playstyles are also more comparable.
And I have to say after this world cup, especially that France semi final where he completely dominated that game I think I give the slightest edge to rodri over busquets. On ball busquets is better and easier on the eye, really silky and smooth play style (though not to say rodri isn't, I just think busquets is more technical on ball) but the defensive IQ and ability rodri has takes him above busquets for me. Again, busquets a very high IQ defender that like rodri reads the game incredibly well and positional awareness is elite but rodri is higher.
Would love to see pep give a detailed breakdown and comparison of the two given how much time he spent with both.
Lol he has a balon dor, he has golden ball, won the euros, world cup, nations league! Hes better than xavi and busquets. Iniesta played more of the left side of midfield.

I mean, id take Rodri and Busquets over Alonso and Busquets, because xavi played more of a free role, and Iniesta was playing the wing not midfield

Xavi, Iniesta and busquets are better than Rodri. But Rodri is already one of the best spainsh players of all time and probably the 4th best midfielders of Spain ever.
