This is the nature of the game; someone always needs to take the blame. Because things didn't go in the right direction, it's just frustration and wasted energy. The damage is done; we should take it like champions. There are no excuses. England needs a new head coach and fresh blood. Never take injured players to your team and leave young stars sitting at home.
Stop spending hundreds of millions every years in the transfer market; let some good players play to foreign leagues
England's top performance was the 2nd half against Croatia (after Tuchel's inspirational half-time speech) !
Yeah. The only way England can win is to hire a famous Barça manager, Spanish player/manager to learn how to play the game.
While Tuchel's substitutions in this game did not help (he needed Rice & Reece-James to remain on), the blame for the loss is not by any means all his !
England played better than Argentina in the first three quarters. However, in the fourth quarter, England switched back to their age-old mentality of nerves and fear of losing, failing to remain at all calm or relaxed/balanced !!
In England's first game against Croatia, Tuchel's half-time speech was perfect: 'Don't play like this, don't play with fear. If you're going to lose, don't lose like this, lose on your own terms knowing you have done your best. Play the game you normally do, play to your strengths.' This led to England's 2nd half performance against Croatia which was the best in this tournament !!!
Unfortunately, England forgot this advice in the final quarter here and switched back to the England of old !
Tuchel then substituted players to try to help them preventing goal, since he had no opportunity for further team talk !!
In addition, while referee was biased towards Argentina, VAR was totally non-existent in this game (including ignored foul by Messi on Spence's foot that led to beating Spence to create final goal) !!

England lost because of Kane as Portugal lost because of Ronaldo AND Argentina won because of Messi, the GOAT. Period, end of story

you can't sit there and say from 1967 to 2026 the things that's been missing is bravery. How many generations of English squads going up the rank through the years and you are saying they are all timid and meek? Its not bravery that's the missing piece….its that as a footballing nation you have no football IDENTITY and so you just try to rely on player quality or a forced system by the coach. Spain's identity is taught starting at grassroot, brazil and argentina is taught through culture, france through academies. England has no identity
England weren't able to stop lesser teams from scoring so it made no sense to go defensive against a team like Argentina. We effectively lost the match as soon as we scored.
FACE IT ….. England NEVER played really well in this match. Not in the first half, and definitely not in the second half. Tuchel's strategy against Argentina LOST England this match……………..FACE IT.
Thomas tuchel’s IQ level is below zero. England is bigger than him. Hiring him was a huge mistake in the first place, and it’s too late right now.

England started strong, aggressive and scored the first goal. And on its way to win the game. But it quickly switched to playing defense and losing its aggressiveness. Big mistake

Please correct me if im wrong. Its just a theory. Most of the countries that have won the world cup maybe apart from Germany the countries have warmer climate with firm fast grounds to play on. Maybe its because english grounds are heavy with England having high rajn fall. Which means the games are more slower its a old style of football. You look at the south Americans and the successful euro countries have dry fast pitches. Its a fast flowing more exciting type of football. Its just a theory. In the case of this game after England went up 1 nill. They should have piled on the atacking pressure. You cant give Argentina or any side a snif.
Soul blame put on Tuchel is a joke, yea he put the players on but they are the ones who never closed down Messi, or closed down Enzo, or header the ball clear in the crosses, your team is bang average,..Argentina showed this, for 65 to 70 mins your team had time to control the game and score more goals but didn’t, Tuchel did what he needed to do to save the result, England where losing their grip on this game.

For nearly half a century, I have followed most of England’s matches, and throughout all those years I never saw the England national team adopt a purely defensive approach for almost thirty minutes—except in its Round of 16 match against Mexico at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Even that match was an exceptional case because England played with ten men. Therefore, it cannot be considered a model to follow or a strategy that should be repeated in a match of the magnitude of England versus Argentina.
A coach who enters a match afraid will never win the World Cup. Losing after a courageous and honorable performance is far better than losing with a timid and humiliating display. I am talking about the FIFA World Cup and about the England national team, which, despite its repeated disappointments in both the World Cup and the UEFA European Championship, has never been a team that feared facing the world's strongest opponents.
In this tournament, every team that played against Argentina—including those considered weaker than England—displayed more courage and produced better performances than the one England delivered against Argentina.
I believed Thomas Tuchel was a great coach, but this tournament proved that success at club level does not necessarily translate into success with a national team. A truly outstanding coach is one who sees things during a match that analysts and fans cannot, and who makes decisions that give his team confidence and identity rather than strip them away.
England looked nothing like the proud team its history and world-class players deserve. Instead, it played like a second-division side. For that reason, I believe Thomas Tuchel bears full responsibility for this performance. This defeat will remain a black mark on his managerial career, and dismissing him would be justified if the Football Association wishes to restore England to the style and character that have defined the national team throughout its history.
