Once he started using "family" as a motivator, I knew he was no longer the right coach. That's a weak mentality. The team needs to have a coach that is tough and makes them fight for their spot and holds them accountable for bad performances. We need a tough coach. They need to clean house because this is mostly on the players.

Someone please explain to an ignorant person like me how itβs so hard to compete with the elite countries? Soccer is everywhere in the States, I mean everywhere. Once kids learn to walk they are playing. But what I never see is a pickup game of soccer or kids playing street soccer. I hear that once you get to travel leagues itβs expensive and many good players canβt afford that lifestyle. What are we missing???

Yes, still proud ! Great coach and good players ! When I was standing in the Santa Clara stadium cheering and singing country road take me home β¦such unforgettable memories. The last game was heartbreaking but the team did not play at their qualities . It is v easy for us to say but those boys are lacking of big game experiences. Top 16 in World Cup , isnβt a good run ? USMNT , donβt give up!

There are 210 countries that participate in international soccer. The US is generally better than about 170 of them. Of the remaining 40 the US can compete with, beat on a good day about 20, and there are 20 countries that we simply are outclassed by. Sure, the US can beat a top 20 team in a friendly on occasion, but when it matters, like in a WC knockout round, no way. Belgium toyed with us, and we were so scared, intimidated by them, we soiled ourselves. The stage was too big for this bunch. Not ready for prime time.

Beating Belgium was our finals. No shot at Spain. Punchers chance at Belgium. They didnβt play special imo they just capitalized on ALL our mistakes. And we made a ton. First time on the stage. Christian was definite. I believe Ponch is resigned. Hopefully this inflated enough kids for us to find a Haaland lol. We have the athletes we just donβt prioritize this sport. If this WC had an impact we will really be able to tell starting in 42 and I think maybe 2050 we make noise. The sport is too low on totem pole here for us to win. Our best are in nba and nfl
