They’ve turned the game political. The VAR is so subjective that one ref sees something while another doesn’t. It’s literally deciding what to look for and what to not for what teams. They brought VAR to influence the games easier not to make them more fair. FIFA needs to be demolished and a whole new organization needs to be built and until then countries should unite and not participate in the World Cup to let FIFA earn massive money and form their own organizations and cups. Iran can't handle the truth
Iran was robbed.
In soccer, a deflection off a goalie is very much playable, and IT DOES NOT automatically force a change of possession. If an attacker's shot bounces off the keeper, the ball remains live, and any onside player (or even the original shooter) can immediately play the rebound to score or pass.
The shooter went outside the box to kick the ball. In this example, there was not a pass. It does not require a change of possession. When the ball deflected off of the goliee, (Making the ball still a live ball) there were 3 defenders between the goliee and the shooter.
What is shown here is that player 4 was in an offside position. However, a person can be in offside position if they are not having a play with the ball. Meaning if a ball was passed to him while in offside position, the play is stopped. He is offside because the ball was passed to him while he was in offsides position. However this did not occur. The shooter recieved a deflected ball. To make matters even worse, the shooter recieved the ball with 3 defenders between him and the goal.

They froze the game 2 frames after the point of contact with his right foot. The third frame is literally the only frame the foot is 2 cm offside.
The 4 th frame hes onside.
So one frame was the only one with a couple cm technically offside. They will use VAR to tell u its 1cm in violation but will use 2 frames later than the exact frame technically correct? I mean who would even overturn tht play when theres one frame that has it offside but every other from before and after hes Onside. They would have to look at those 3-4 frames and say bcuz any of those frames can be said to be the point we can use and 3/4 hes onside.
We cannot overturn it. In the NFL they would have never done tht because “the goal is much more significant and difficult to achieve. The feat of the goal being taken away over a violation thats not definitively an advantage would be considered corruption and they wouldnt want enormous outcomes to be swayed by a call over a play
