Inconsistency in refereeing has always been a thing. Portugal won against Croatia because VAR literally turned the game in their favor. The ref refused to go to the VAR in case of Egypt 2 penalty one with Mo Salah and the other when Egyptian player was held from his shirt inside tge 28 yards, also so many Egyptian players were hit in the face with no fouls . Only Egyptian players got 7 yellow cards unjustified. The game is rigged for Argentina , what a shame , the FIFA is the most corrupt organization .

Im good with the old school style, BUT…..its one or the other, not a mix of both. VAR ONLY for goals, not even off sides. The refs are gonna get lazy……
let’s say they gave that goal to Egypt and makes it 3-0 against Argentina, regardless of it, Argentina would make the three goals in the remaining 30-40 minutes left, and if they had went to extra time, Argentina would have scored another goal, leaving the final score of 3-4. It’s unfortunate that Egypt let their guard down so badly in the remaining 30 minutes, because I would have loved for Egypt to have beaten Argentina.

How clueless is this guy …..the very reason we have VAR , and its implementation is to correct errors done by referees, because in the past we were stuck with the mistakes.
Here the referee didn’t see a foul , which was a foul , so the play continued and it ended with a goal. So the same way , after a goal , they check to see if a foul was committed during the sequence leading up to the goal , they did the same thing here .
A foul was committed at the beginning of the sequence, which the rules clearly states that that goal must be disallowed.
Theres nothing controversial about it , only if you’re ignorant of the rules , or emotional.
