  1. If you watched football at all you will see it’s clearly a red and a suspension knowing it was from behind and it essentially ends his year and most likely next year I think it’s the least FIFA can do. The tackle should have never happened

  2. As long as this is the same across all competitions then I'm all for it. At least it will stop people from even attempting such tackles, accidental or not.

  3. it was not even a tackle, their feet got tangled, and it was unfortunate that the other dude broke his leg. Shihhh, this is a cup game, 5 games ban means it's over for the dude. Feels like FIFA did this just because Canada is the host…

  4. If you've watched football long enough and seen previous incidents of players breaking their legs from tackles, it's often very minor contact and not due to violent or excessive force. Leg breaks in football are often like that, so yes if there was not violent conduct and excessive force then it should only be a minor offense for the nature of the tackle itself, not the nature of the injury sustained.

  5. People who are supporting this ban don't understand that football is a contact sport and injury is part of it..I don't think it was violent conduct and at max a yellow card..

  6. That one tackle should have been a whole career suspension, he ended kone's world cup dream then and there and the fact that it come only one every 4 years is crazy..
Very true the punishment is way too light given the crime..
