and meanwhile FIFA has now overturned Balogun's red…. embarrassingly clear double standards.
If you watched football at all you will see it’s clearly a red and a suspension knowing it was from behind and it essentially ends his year and most likely next year I think it’s the least FIFA can do. The tackle should have never happened
The tackle is not as bad as it seems… if the player didn’t break his leg then that would have been a yellow card!
Yeah it's only fair, Messi also received his ban a few days ago right?
Do we really want to see more of these injuries? No. FIFA has to send a message to all players to be more careful on those entries.
🩷🤍🩵 disband fifa. It's far too corrupt to reform.
A foul at most, never a yellow or red…he probably half broke it the way his own leg landed (like mcgregor did) before the guy tapped him…joke joke joke
As long as this is the same across all competitions then I'm all for it. At least it will stop people from even attempting such tackles, accidental or not.
FIFA is discussing an appropriate punishment❤😢😮
it was not even a tackle, their feet got tangled, and it was unfortunate that the other dude broke his leg. Shihhh, this is a cup game, 5 games ban means it's over for the dude. Feels like FIFA did this just because Canada is the host…
Do you even watch football? Who cares?
The whole team should be punished. They were committing hard fouls once they fell behind
If you've watched football long enough and seen previous incidents of players breaking their legs from tackles, it's often very minor contact and not due to violent or excessive force. Leg breaks in football are often like that, so yes if there was not violent conduct and excessive force then it should only be a minor offense for the nature of the tackle itself, not the nature of the injury sustained.
The one who actually deserved a 5 game suspension is Fifa's princess for that career ending tackle. She got away with nothing as usual
A contact sport. Sometimes you’re not even fouling and players get injured. FIFA is in some dictatorship bs
Why don't they buy refeee from oil money
Qatar must fight this nonsense.
People who are supporting this ban don't understand that football is a contact sport and injury is part of it..I don't think it was violent conduct and at max a yellow card..
what about the red card Messi should’ve received?
That one tackle should have been a whole career suspension, he ended kone's world cup dream then and there and the fact that it come only one every 4 years is crazy..
Very true the punishment is way too light given the crime..
Should be however long the other player is medically not available
Women talk bout soccer still embarassing
You know nothing! He broke the leg of the opponent! Should be 1 year suspension
Mf broke his leg
