It's not about result….
He is accused of appointed as a manger by improper means…
Darn! The SK coach is soooo worthless, soooo useless that he had SK team qualified for WC ….when 2 hundreds other countries couldn’t. The same coach had SK win over Czech but he is now absolute garbage because SK lost to South Africa, SK out of WC. Therefore he must be howled, jailed, investigated….and it’s only justice to condemn his family, his wife, his children to see him treated like that. It’s SK justice.
What a crazy fucking country
Korean are so toxic. The game is over, why spent so much time on hating. Go spend your time scheduling next cosmetic appointment 😂
What do you mean by fanatical fans. Its passion after all it is the most popular sports in the world
All for some physical sport that is making less money than video games now in the name of entertainment.
If you believe it's more than a form of entertainment, there is something wrong with you to take something waaaay too seriously.
The comments here just tell me you just take things at face value and just jump to conclusions without understanding the context behind it
The anger of Korean football fans does not stem from their team's elimination from the World Cup. Instead, they are actively encouraging and supporting the players; their fury is directed entirely at the Korea Football Association (KFA) and the head coach, tracing back to events from a year ago.
The KFA President, who has held power for over 13 years, has packed key positions within the association with his own loyalists. KFA has long attempted to meddle in player selection, which previously caused friction with former head coaches like Guus Hiddink and Paulo Bento, who refused to comply with his interference.
During the process of appointing the current head coach, Hong, the KFA claimed they were searching for a foreign manager. However, it was later revealed that this was a mere charade; they had excluded foreign candidates from the start and had already predetermined Hong for the role. This was not only a deception of football fans but also triggered immense outrage, as it was seen as another appointment born out of cronyism and their internal cartel.
While it is true that Hong won the K-League title (albeit managing the team with the best squad in the league), he was already a manager who had failed during the 2014 World Cup. More importantly, because the appointment process was unfair and unjustifiable to anyone, many grew furious regardless of his managerial competence. Consequently, during the World Cup Asian qualifiers, a significant number of fans boycotted the matches, loudly demanding reform and restructuring within the KFA.
When the controversy erupted, a parliamentary hearing was held regarding the KFA and the manager. Despite receiving a massive salary, Hong claimed during the hearing that he "accepted the managerial position to serve/volunteer for the country," making himself a prime target for public criticism. On top of that, he continuously exposed tactical instability throughout the World Cup preparations.
This tactical vulnerability was laid bare during the actual World Cup tournament. Compounded by rumors of discord with certain players, the team showed a devastating lack of chemistry and cohesion compared to four years ago, which ultimately caused the fans' anger to boil over.
Currently, Korean football fans are demanding a sweeping reform and overhaul of the deeply stagnant KFA, while continuing to send their unwavering encouragement and support to the players.
❤❤❤😍😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯
Korea sucks period! 🤣
When you’re Host nation, you always get the easiest path out of your group. People take soccer way too seriously other countries. It’s just a game and nothing more.
Lol😂😂😂i thought brazil, chelsea and arsinal fans where serious about the game korea is more serious about the game 😂😂😂😂😂
He needs to change profession and go for plastic surgery……
perhaps become a K-drama or K-pop star
Classic haters
Just saying, some South Korean fans of all sports and esports are toxic AF. They sent a funeral flower display to the headquarters of T1, the most beloved League of Legends team’s headquarters. They payed for billboard trucks to troll the team when certain players were underperforming. Just diabolical trolling
Koreans are some of the most overdramatic people 😂
Sick Korean society 😅
This is sad because South Korea was one of the highlights of the World Cup. Especially with the Mexicans 😢❤
SK take note, you should be ashamed of yourself for not supporting your team especially when they need you! All team members went out and did their best!
Did you ever think how hard it was to play in that Weather or Altitude? Mexico is 412 meters above sea level, SK is only elevation of 282 meters.
Try your compassion, instead of your condemnation.
2002 was full of corruption from referring for South Korea. It's the only corruption scandal that every football fan can agree on. That's why south Korea so we'll in that tournament. Not sure why fans are so upset. The team is not that good.
Wait, he was a last minute hire, he shouldered the weight of a nation.
NOW HE'S THE SCAPEGOAT
South Korea is nearly as dystopian as their buddies up north
I mean there is only so much a coach can do..regardless its a F'ing BALL KICKING GAME. how pathetic…a bunch of grown adults throwing a tantrum over a game acting like children.😂
