Colombia Are THROUGH!! Los Cafeteros March Into the Round of 16

Colombia beat Ghana 1-0 in the 2026 World Cup Round of 32 to advance to the Round of 16 against Switzerland. An early goal from Jhon Arias was enough to beat the Black Stars but it wasnt easy! End-to-End chances from both sides kept the game close and intense but ultimately Los Cafeteros made it through. Can Luis Diaz and James Rodriguez help push Colombia into a World Cup Quarter Final?

  1. Keep underestimating Colombia. They can beat you on the ball, off the ball, front foot forward, in the back foot. Nobody talks about how strong Luccumi and Sanchez have been on the back for Colombia. Shut down. Nobody is talking about Puerta.
This team needs to take care of Switzerland and then take it to Argentina in the quarters.

  2. A team that didnt need to shift to 3rd or 4th gear after dominating the entire game. score shoudlve been more, lack of finishing. But even with 10 minutes left we kept attacking, pressing, and counter attacking. argentina couldnt handle cape verde putting pressure trying to tie it and look at ghana. they kept pushing and we shut them down. Need more respect for this team because they did not need to push harder than they needed to.

  3. How does the Ghana FA show you they are corrupt and Ghana officials are stealing FIFA money meant for Youth development programmes? They hire a terrible cheap European coach, who is completely unemployable in the rest of the world playing defensive football and tactics from the 1960s that goes against all the football values of Ghanaian football and the profile of the players. They call Ghana the Brazilians of Africa not park the bus team of Africa. This was stuff African teams were doing in the 1990s and early 2000s, this colonial mentality no longer works. The African teams who played the best football and had the best success were Morocco, Cape Verde, Senegal and Egypt. All had African coaches who understood culture and had modern tactics and did well. Ghana were an embarrassment. They had the fewest shots of of 48 teams at the tournament because their unemployable outdated Portuguese coach was playing catennaccio football from the 1960s in the 2026 World Cup making Semenyo and Williams who are top quality attacks play as secondary fullbacks. I would rather Ghana play the Ghana way of attacking flair football and not make it out the group than parks the bus for every game and eliminated in the 32 round with a defensive whimper. We were parking bus when we were losing.

The appointment of the this Portuguese failure and fraud shows you the Ghana FA, with Nigeria and Cameroon have been left behind by the top teams in Africa doing same things they were doing 15 and 20 years. Getting awful below par European managers who are cheap to fire, so they steal the FIFA money. Ghana made the round of 32 so don’t expect that money to go building youth development facilities in Ghana, more like going to build a new house for a Ghana football official. And thanks to FIFA who offer officials protection, by banning any country from the World Cup whose government attempts to investigate their corrupt FAs.

Countries like Morocco, Senegal and Cape Verde said were are not going to be corrupt like most of the other African FA and steal the FIFA money, we are actually going to invest the money in grass roots in their countries to produce better talent and they these countries have seen the results of being honest with success. Senegal have won 2 AFCONS in a row. Morocco got to a World Cup semifinal, are female AFCON champions and youth World Cup champions. Ghana, Nigeria and Cameroon have the most talent in Africa but their corrupt FAs think they they can rely on that talent alone, not invest any of the money they get so they can steal it and this has meant they have been left behind. Despite the clear examples of Senegal and Morocco showing what happens when football officials actually invest in the football, these Ghana officials want to just steal because they are protected from investigation by FIFA.
