  1. It give fifa precedent now. If messi or ronaldo get a deserved red in the next round, fifa will be able to overrule it the following game to preserve the narratives, keep more viewers and get more money. After last world cup, and some game at this world cup( france vs paraguay for example), it's getting out of hands

  2. UEFA and South American football association should shake hands and make new world Cup where infantiles and FIFAs are not welcome. Cup where isnt 100 teams but 32 best countries on world

  3. Like many others, I think the red card against Balogun was harsh. There just wasn’t malicious intent in the foul to warrant it. HOWEVER, because our idiot President Donald Trump called to intervene and then FIFA decided to suspend the penalty, the only thing to do is to have Balogun sit on the bench versus Belgium. It’s the only way USMNT can win and call it a real win. And honestly, we can win, with or without Balogun.

  4. Trump tweeted for this to happen – even tho his new birthright nonsense would have prevented Balogun from being able to represent the US 😂

    Inept or what?

  5. A rightfully convicted criminal in the White House makes a phone call to a Mafia boss at the FIFA and as a result all football rules are nil and void. A scandal.

  6. Fifa isn't even hiding its corruption anymore – tournament is a total joke now, it's clearly fixed for the US. Usa cheating isn't abnormal, If I were Belgium I wouldn't play, there's no fair play, it's fixed.

  7. Belgium may not have been playing well. But something like this can fuel them. I hear Americans talk about the 4th of July weekend influencing the USA team, this corrupt decision by FIFA can motivate them to prove a point too!!

  8. "infringement of similar nature and severity" – so, 2 for 1, neat – and you get the bonus before the the other – what a steal. Mean i dont care about soccer, but china gets more tempting to get in bed with day by day.

  9. This is a bloody disgrace! If anyone gets a red card in the following games, FIFA must suspend that!
If the White House has been involved, that is a breach of FIFA´s neutrality rules(?).

And never a red card? MF´s say that an ankle breaking tackle is not a red card. WTF?!

  10. There is plenty more to say for that case, that they are not saying here.
bad journalism .. simply. that looks for scandal.
22 minutes on a case, that they do not even show !!
it is ridiculous. it is not so scandalous …. it makes sense actually. But like all recourses .. someone has to initiate it.

  11. If the coach is more aligned with traditional football values, he could keep him in the bench, out of support to the football community and to avoid making the US victory as buffed. However, there is really not much to think about. If it's done, it's done, and so it means it's a new rule moving forward. It's also not as unfair as undoing the actual red card during the game, which sets the offender's team back to one less player in the field, which usually is noticeable.
The suspension is very forward looking since the stakes are growing higher and I would actually rally for the opposite, loser team red card's to hold. For example, when Mexico beat Ecuador a few days ago, one of Ecuador's players was so salty that he covered his hand to insult a mexican player, which is now heavily tracked by cameras. He got a red card, but so what? It was the last minute of the game, and they had no upcoming game. He literally got away with the insult. I say, an act like that from the loser's side (including injuring the winner team) should mean a suspension of various months over any relevant football league, or a fine, or a full suspension for the next's world cup group matches, or something like that.

  12. Corruption !!!! Belgium and no other team should allow this unfairness. FIFA should be sued hugely!!!! USA should be booed throughout the game for this unfairness.

  13. IT"S RIGGED PEOPLE!!! Trump wants the USA to win from WC winner Argentina! OPEN YOUR EYES!!! That's why Messi didn't get a red card, that's why this red card is overturned!!

  14. How was it not a red card? I was hard brutal play and thats a red? Wtf are u talking about. Why do americans try to cover the korruption by saying „well well it is correct somehow“ wtf. Say how it is. This is pure corruption and in a correct world all team should stop playing their games. I mean, we had a red card last game, he somehow broke his leg with brutal force, but hey lets call our president and lets ignore it.

  15. this is so bad for the US, they look bad now. they have such a great run in this world cup and i actually happy for them. but to have your president to called fifa just to review the game decision, it sounds soooooo bad. it tanited their wc campaign
