  1. recency bias wow. Mbappe is a better world cup player. possibly will end up as the greatest but you can't say Ronaldo does not have a influence on portugal. Ronaldo is euros all time top scorer, all time international scorer and has put portugal on the map countless times!

  2. I loved how serious France was, and the way they respected Irak from the first minute !
Props to Didier Deschamps, his staff, and to the players considered their leaders (Mbappe, Dembele particularly) !

  3. Real Madrid fans has spitted, denigrated and used Mbappé as a scapegoat to explain their poor season. But the truth is Mbappé was never the problem, the players behind him are… Mbappé can"'t do everything alone. Madrid midfield is not good and experienced enough. Once Mbappé is served the right away by Dembélé, Doué, Olise or Rabiot, he's doing all the efforts for the team.

  4. People should stop with that record breaking thing. Of freaking course he's going to break it eventually, his ratio is out of this world. He's the best striker alive and is just 27. But what matters to the players, him included, is to win the trophy. And you can have all the records you like while losing a final.

  5. The people who don’t acknowledge Mbappe nor respect what his doing are just jealous.
I mean I don’t even know who this guy is that’s failing to accept that Kyky is doing great younnoe so that tells me he prolly just jealous

  6. I'm not saying that because I'm french but Mbappé has had and will continue to have a better international career than Messi and Ronaldo…

People forget that Messi won his first international title at age 34 (Copa América)

Before that, he was heavily criticized for his inability to lead Argentina to a major title and for the number of finals they lost

Mbappé has had a greater impact from his very first national team appearances and from his very first major tournament, even though he was just a teenager

To say that Messi is a better international player today is just part of a recency bias

Especially since the refereeing that favored Argentina and the number of penalties they were given in 2022 played a major role in inflating his World Cup stats

  7. Notes on Iraq vs. France—predictable from the first whistle.

Iraq won the kickoff and promptly kicked the ball aimlessly into the French half. Why? What was the strategy? Clearly, the coach must have instructed them to sit back and prevent a massacre. For the first 13 minutes, that is exactly what they did—played possum, allowing France to dominate. Result? A smashing shot from the dictator Mbappé. 1–0. That goal told Iraq everything they needed to know: they were in for a rough ride.

Why do these Muslim teams—aside from Morocco—insist on playing on the back foot? What is wrong with them? Why not attack from the first whistle and keep the pressure on the opposition? I was prepared for a goal bath. I do not know if Iraq was.

At halftime, the good news: Iraq was only down 1–0. Maybe the plan was to defend all game with occasional spurts toward the French goal. Or maybe the heavy downpour helped keep the score respectable. The match was suspended at halftime—heard it resumed alongside Norway vs. Senegal.

Final score: France 3–0. No surprise. Predictable. This is the World Cup—a tournament for the best of the best. Iraq, sad to say, did not measure up today.

  8. I blame Mbappe for storm! Why does he have to score a goal even the sky has to celebrate! 16 goals 16 World Cup matches 27 years old this is crazy while Messi 39 years is celebrating 18 goals in 29 world cups matches. Mbappe needs to be investigated for being an Alien!

  9. I commented on the post on Twitter but had to come here also because I need you to see this. Regarding Mbappe vs Ronaldo; At least have a coherent argument if you’re gonna say something so obviously wrong. His point isn’t even based in any logic. I even tried to hear his argument and it’s like he knew he was just saying nonsense. I know there’s no way he genuinely believes Ronaldo does more for his teammates than Mbappe does. You need to get fined for lying on air 9:12
