I like that us stuttgart fans finally (after 3 Years) got global support in screaming for Undav to Start. I like less that this global support doesn't know his stats and is speculating wether he can have an impact if he starts. He can, I watch all Stuttgart games, he usually has an impact
Undav is a natural striker and all he needs is half a chance. Being doing it for Stuttgart for a while
It's ridicoulus that Lehmann claims that Undav can't create chances by himself. He literally initiated the attack that led to the goal in this exact match and I've seen Undav play now since he became part of our 3rd divison team here in Meppen and he's more like mix between a number 10 and number 9 because he's great at scoring goals but also has a great eye for initiating plays and doing really good passes that's why his assist numbers are consistantly way higher than most traditional niners can produce.
Lehmann was a good addition. Mike has no clue how the German public think.
These kind of "experts" we have in Germany in each beer pub ten times. Lost time of life to view this rubbish.
They say Ivory Coast could have scored "2 or 3 more goals". I am wondering how? Ivory Coast had 2 shots on target, one of them being their goal. Germany had more shots on target, more xG etc. Ivory Coast were a tough opponent, but they got more and more tired in the final 20 minutes so to me it was a question of time when Germany would score. Also, they seem to forget that Germany had 2 good chances in the first 15 minutes. Would have been a totally different game, had Germany scored.
Anyways, Germany aren't flawless, but they showed morale and determination. With a bit if luck, that could take them far.
Sorry, but Germany was even better, they saw a other match
Sports is still fairplay and not ruthlessness
Germany have won 11 games in a row beating the USA last week who will give any one a good game germany have a great chance to win the WC
OH NO ITS JENZ LEHMANN WITH THE CHAINSAAAAW!!!!
Yeah, it's really impressive to see the incredible team spirit the Germans have. They just never give up, which is truly remarkable.
Germany Hate Jens Lehmann
Don't let this wannabe German analyst speak for all germans
"Leon Goretzka sprinted all the way back from the opponent’s box into his own penalty area and poked the ball away in the very last second from Adiga who was clean through on goal."
That mentality of us germans did win that game. Undav scored, but without doing that sprint Ivory Coast would have likely got their 2nd goal and it would be it, or with luck a draw for the germans.
Why does no one mention that as well?
Jens Lehmann has no clue about the player Deniz Undav is. He has proven for years at club level that he is great not only as a finisher but in assisting goals. He is the top three scorer in all of Europe in 2026, only behind Kane and Olisse.
Undav will be underestimated right until the end of this tournament when he'll get the golden boot (Kane won't because England will lose a penalty shoot-out again…). 😅
Feeling for you guys, Germany dominated the game.
Jens as always – unsympathic guy as ever. Germany was overall the team with more shots on goal, more chances, more corners, made 2 goals which did not count (1 correctly)… so whats the problem. Of course, Ivory Coast played well too, and yes, they were close to tie the game.
ivory cost were the best they will qualify and scare the shot out of alotof teams
Hm… I can see the doubts about Germany but I really don’t know why they talked them down? The numbers shows the dominance. CIV had good chances and the did played very good! Created some serious chances, but they didn’t deserve a win. They may have deserved a draw though. But again, stats are on the german site. I don’t need a biased analysis from these so-called experts…
Why is my boy lehman living in an underground car park 😭😭😭
1/4 Final is stupid. We will play the 1/16 final, win an face France in the 1/8 final. If we win france, what will be the hardest game ever… we want the trophy
Germany is Arabic team now, very sad for that great once team
the guy with the hat spitting facts
This was a wonderful game in my opinion. I was expecting Ivory Coast to be a challenging team to play and they certainly didn't disappoint me.
I'm German and I can vaguely remember games in the 1970ies and 80ies when often the other team had made the first one or two goals and we had to find our way back into the game. This was a healthy experience in my opinion. Winning 7:1 is nice but it's rather an indication that the other team was caught on the wrong foot in too many aspects. This game against Ivory Coast allowed the German team to grow and gain the confidence that winning against Curacao wasn't only a matter of them having a bad day.
Again I want to express my respect to both teams, the one from Curacao and the one from Ivory Coast. This was a really nice game with quite some suspense and excitement, never boring. If IC would have won I would still be grateful to the German players.
Keeping undav in the bench all the time…. Soon will be back fire to Nagelsman… 100 percent
Kurdish power German discipline
These guys have no damn clue about football
„he is a natural striker, maybe hey not that much involved in the link up play but he get goals“
Guys, he initiated his first goal by receiving the ball around the halfway line, passed it out wide and makes the run in the box.
Half of his games for Stuttgart he plays as a CAM second striker sround „natural strikers“ like demirovic
What are you guys talking about here?
The gap between their commentary and the actual game is stunning. What the heck, what’s going on???
Germany Derangement Syndrome going strong.
Cope.
Germany have a dominant WC record precisely because they manage health and resources for a long tournament instead of going all out for show like a young lover. Even an easy tie in group phase is better than a risky win at the cost of a bunch of yellow cards and an injury or two, especially against an overly physical team and a myopic referee.
Germany have the best overall WC stats of all teams ever because of prudence and pragmatism. Most consistent bar none.
Group phase is handbrakes-on phase.
Run-ups to tournaments are for maximum lessons learned across a maximum of the player base. Abiding by that doesn't yield optimum stats and ranking before a WC or EC.
But that's a price Germany have systematically paid for several generations to be reeady, broad, and deep when it counts.
The FIFA stats systematically underestimate Germany's quality before tournaments, almost every time.
They win the WC every 20 years.
Building a WC-winning team takes time. And to win it, you have to let a strong generation overstay their prime by just a little to have them.physically and mentally strong and sync that peak up with a WC. Doing so preprograms a sharp drop afterwards for a decade or so.
Outgrowing that generational hangover takes a Cup or two then. This time around the trough was a bit deeper than usual, but in line with established processes after WC win 2014 and ongoing cyclical rebuilding.
Late 2020s and early 30s Germany will have to be reckoned with. Like clockwork.
There's method to the madness of fluctuations.
Just as there's method to building nd fielding the best 11 instead of the 11 best.
It's a proven, winnning formula.
Factoring in the decades, the games, goals, and non-winning high placements in tournamwäents, no team can compete, because most go for maxxing immediate glory and spectacle.
"They (CIV) could have won by making two or three more goals". Reality: GER shots on goal 7, CIV 2 shots….
Im so proud on my German squad, they kept fighting, thats what we need 🇩🇪♥️💪
60-40 possession, 16-9 shots, 7-2 on target, 8-3 corners. Yes, Ivory Coast truly gave this one away – not.
Strange energy here.
Nice experts from America with zero real Football culture.
Just because the World Cup is taking place there, they now think they’re the best football experts in the world.
Ivory Coast beat France. Experts should mention that.
What game did they watch? Ivory Coast weren't better in any metric and Germany controlled large parts of the game and created more chances. I'd say a draw would've been fair since Ivory Coast played well on the counter and defended really strong but wtf are these guys talking about?
