Quite Embarrassing punditry – coming from this group who have 0 INTERNATIONAL SENIOR CAPS COMBINED TOGETHER. As an Everton fan, I generally laugh at the “Pickford is average because he plays for Everton” digs he gets 😂. He alone has kept us up for multiple relegation threatened seasons and he’s been priceless for us. If he ever goes to another club above us in standards, I can’t wait to see them change their tune on him!

Pickford is an average keeper, thats why he plays for Everton. No offence, but hes not very good passer or ball kicker.
Pickford like to insert himself into every play. Always wanting the ball to go back to him, only to kick it out to the opposition. Pickford is the weak link in the England team.

Totally wrong from Grella…Bellingham's goal wasn't just a simple ball forward, it came at the end of 23-pass move which had drawn Croatia's press and effectively created a counter attack once they got the ball to someone free and in a position to play 'the simple ball forward'.

Very good opening analysis from Troy. Our lack of ball players in the middle of the park (and don't come at me with 'what about Rice and Anderson', they're good PL players who get up and down the pitch, they're not ballers like Pedri and Vintinha) will ultimately cost us. But because we don't have them, we do have to play more forward and direct. It'll mean sacrificing quite a bit of control to play more to what we do have, which is speed and physicality. That'll only get us so far but at least we'll be playing to our current strengths.
Going forward after this WC, I really do think we need to go the Wharton route; he's the best player we have in terms of quality on the ball in the midfield. He's more precise, and much more efficient with his passing than either Rice or Anderson.
