Summer 2025 Net Spend we weren’t even Number One. Despite all the noise, our net spend of £218m was second highest trailing Arsenal on £257m. Our long term record is impressive:
· Last 3 Years: ~£190.8m (Significantly less than many rivals).
· Last 5 Years: ~£421m (6th highest in the league).
· Last 10 Years (2016-2026): £354m (8th in the PL, less than half what rivals spent).
The biggest takeaway? Context. Klopp & Edwards built a winning machine by making smart sales and investing. All those getting easy clicks on our gross spend last summer reject the nuance. This all means we have more scope for spending under SCR (new ffp rules) than ill-informed pundits know. 😉
Didn’t love this segment- would have preferred to see actual game footage reflecting Iraola’s style vs. the examples given. The commentators seem to be a bit out of touch with LFC as a whole.
The first guy is so incredibly wrong. The countless people in great positions to speak about football on tv that don’t bother to research is outrageous. 😩It’s the opposite of what he said. Klopp was great, in part, because he fitted with Liverpool. It’s also wrong to say the identity is attacking. It’s hard working, big tackles, using the crowd, that can be playing on the counter if done right.
Klop style: did you do any research before mopping nonsense? Liverpool had an identity in the late '80s. (high pressing and counterattack)
She describes Slotball accurately…. Slow down, get into position and structure then slowly build again. By time that happens, Rio and Isak and Salah are facing 2-3 defenders!! How does that benefit Frim, Rio, Isak who call thrive on quick balls and through balls for them to use their pace and skill.
Fans just cant digest Slotball… sideways, backwards, sideways, backwards then punt forward… slow slow “control” leading to nothing. Liv fans used to Klopp ball

Liverpool have always been a attack team historically. Salah, Mane, Suarez, Torres, Owen, Fowler, Barnes, Rush, Dalglish, Keegan, Liverpool always had a great attacking play since forever. Sorry poor knowledge
