Besides playing well you need a certain amount of luck to win the world cup, there are so many intangibles. In most world cups any of the semifinalists could win it and generally it´s decided by details, and usually the top team going in doesn’t win it! Also Argentina has higher odds because it´s really hard statistically to for the reigning champion to repeat.
