Morocco and Nigeria needed a penalty shootout to decide the winner in their AFCON 2025 semifinal matchup. Youssef El-Nesyri scored the winning penalty, and Yassine Bounou saved two penalty attempts for Morocco. In the other semifinal, Sadio Mane scored a late winner for Senegal against Egypt in a battle against Mane’s former Liverpool teammate, Mohammed Salah.
