PSG asking Messi to do that is not wrong in any way but dumb because he can do a more effective job at counter attacking. But then, it also depends on the score line. If the aim is to just defend their 1 goal lead then may be that was the better strategy because he cannot defend.

I rarely disagree with Thierry but I have got to say I don't agree with what he said about Messi's role during that corner kick being wrong. Jamie was right. Why him? For me, it's more like why not him? Nobody is thinking about the fact that Messi is the GOAT on the pitch at that moment, including Messi himself, if he ever even thinks so. Messi wanted to contribute and I don't think it would have been of much use making him stand in the wall. It must've happened in the moment, somebody was needed on the ground when the players were making the wall, and Messi came forward. It was not deliberate in my opinion.
