Mexico 4, Cuba 1

Mexico won 4-1 against Cuba to earn back-to-back wins in Group A and qualify to the W Futsal Championship semifinals.

The Caribbeans struck first with a great collective play, in the 3’, that Nahomi Aguilar finished with a right-footed shot.

Mexico tied the match in the 24’ thanks to a close range shot from Xanic Benítez. The Mexicans gained the lead in the 36’ with a right-footed shot from Itzel Cruz. El Tricolor added to its tally in the 38’ by way of Paulina Cruz. The fourth Mexican goal arrived in the 39’ from a right-footed effort by Rosa Aguiar.

Panama 4, Guatemala 3

Panama earned consecutive wins in Group A, winning 4-3 against hosts Guatemala to qualify for the W Futsal Championship semifinals.

Gloria Saenz gave Las Canaleras the first goal of the night in the 2’. Kenia Rangel doubled Panama’s lead in the 5’, scoring her third goal in two games.

Grecia Santizo pulled one goal back for Guatemala in the 30’ with a left-footed banger. Katherine Garzaro scored the second for La Bicolor in the 31’.

Panama restored its one-goal lead in the 34’ thanks to Ariadna Abadia. Gloria Saenz got the fourth goal for Panama in the 37’, in what would end up being the deciding goal.

Guatemala’s third arrived in the 37’ from Andrea Chajon but the comeback effort would not be completed for the hosts before time expired.
